Pro-face GP2500 / GP2600: Failure, spare, or modernization?
July 2026·6 min min read
GP2500/GP2600 panels often fail via touch or backlight. Discontinued — NOS and refurb are limited. An HMI retrofit keeps the machine usable without rebuilding the whole control.
Typical situation
- Unit / axis faults or will not start
- Identical spare: long lead time, quote-only, or unknown history
- OEM proposes a successor — often with parameter, bus, or wiring changes
Three paths — and when retrofit wins
- Surplus / used — fast if a true match is available. Risk: remaining life.
- Repair — for known failure modes when mechanics should stay.
- Retrofit / modernization — when the line must stay plannable, several identical nodes exist, or supplyability for years matters.
Solvetronix is not a parts shop. We clarify technical options and modernize where it cuts downtime for good — Modernize. Not replace.
First assessment — what we need
- Nameplate / order code (Pro-face GP2500 / GP2600)
- Power, mains, feedback/encoder, bus/IO
- Fault picture and how many identical units are on the machine
